This is so true. And so sad.

Wow. Scathing. Nice work Devis.

We cannot let this be true. We cannot do what we as Indians have done over and over again, which is turn the other cheek, be the better person. The attacks were indeed a "call to arms" over "cashmere" and so much more. Pacifism has not worked.

Hey guys. Let's stay away from a discussion about political/military action in this thread. There are many other forums on the web to discuss your political views, and this comic is really about the tragedy of the event, and the way in which it was covered in the U.S.

It's difficult not to get political and military about what happened. It's difficult to watch the mismanagement of a country and the laziness of a people. But I agree that talking about a comic will likely not help these issues. This is a good comic. I don't see it as scathing. I think it's interesting to see a sort of child perspective on the issue and I remember thinking my whole world revolved around whether I would be going to India for December when my friends stayed home. I like this one because it raises alot of issues--but many of them are political.

Great comic, Devis, you keep putting em out. I guess I can see how this can push some militant buttons but really the look on the faces of the mothers in the last panel speaks more than anything else. Tragic tragic tragic, and I like to see it from the dual points of view--children and parents.

Those Blitzer captions could be actual quotes--I wouldn't be surprised. I was shocked when they paraded about the so-called "Indian experts" on the news. Unbelievable!

This is one of the more nuanced commentaries on the attacks I have seen--keep it coming. The bit on Madonna with the bindi is my favourite.

The Indian coverage of Mumbai was really no better than the U.S.'s. Lots of panic, little substance. It's amazing with how far information and the decimination of it has come, how lacking the institutions are in covering of-the-moment events.

Absolutely love this animation style, don't think I have ever seen anything like it.

You know what, this resonated with me in a really weird way because we are currently re-thinking our plans to go to India at Christmas and are having to explain it to our daughter, who sort of gets things but sort of doesn't (She is 4). It's all just really sad.

Got directed here from Sepia. This is good stuff. You should get it off a mommy blog.
