Devis: Want to Talk to the Washington Post?

Thursday, October 30, 2008
Apparently the "Brown Girls" know how to keep debate alive. Based on the controversy over last week's cartoon, The Washington Post is interested in talking with you if you have a story/anecdote/experience about bringing home an African American boyfriend or girlfriend, or bringing home a potential spouse of a different race in general. Please email us at deviswithbabies@gmail.com (or leave a comment here) if you would like to share your story, and feel free to tell this to any friends you have who may be interested as well.

Also: Look out for the next issue of "Brown Girls" this afternoon.

Would we have to use our names or could this be anonymous?

To the last poster: I am not sure about this. If you want to send us your contact info, I can forward it to the reporter and explain that you only are interested if you can be anonymous. Thanks.

Am I paranoid to be more that a little paranoid about how the Washington Post is gonna spin this?

I guess we'll find out. I have no stories--my parents are an interracial couple already. They tend to see both Indians and Europeans who are still caught up on this question as hopelessly backward. They just celebrated their 40th anniversary, after all.

Ummm, that first sentence should have read:

Am I paranoid to be more than a little wary about how the Washington Post is gonna spin this?

Apologies. I have a brain muddled by the flu.
