Congratulations to "Slumdog Millionaire"!

What a coup! "Slumdog" was 4 for 4 at the Golden Globes tonight, including the big prize--Best Picture. And my LORD Freida looked hot...! For much more on the movie's historic GG wins, see here and here. I thought it was cool that Freida called the film a source of pride for India...but what was up with Shah Rukh Khan offering a "pelvic dance" at the podium?!?

She is SMOKING. But that supporting actor was a total douche!

There are so many better films that represent India but I am still so excited to see our own up on that stage!

Where are the kids from the movie? They are the ones who made this movie shine--and they are also actual slum kids, so I am especially curious to know if they were sent back to the slums after the film wrapped. How sad that they are not there to walk the red carpets--at the very least, they should have been there.

I was about to say the same thing! Hopefully they are being more recognized in India?

Wait, really? They were actually from the slums? I haven't read that anywhere, that's amazing. I can't imagine they could just be "sent back" they must have been somewhat taken care of?

Yes Freida looked amazing. Love the color of her dress.

No matter what you think of the movie, this is a huge day for Indians in cinema. A.R. Rahman is the first Indian to win a Golden Globe ever!

I think some of the extras were actually from slums in India but the main children who portrayed younger versions of the main characters were child-actors.

Ugh, her dress is a disaster. But the color is nice. And her makeup is gorgeous.

Sorry catching up on posts. It was mentioned on the Ellen show that the kids were actual slum kids and that after the movie wrapped the kids were sent to school and that there were trust funds created in their names. Not sure if that is the case or if they are from middle class families.
